Individual THerapy
Whether you are feeling stuck, struggling to overcome a challenge, or adjusting to life changes, individual psychotherapy can help you find your way when it feels like nothing else has worked. I will work collaboratively with you to deepen insight and awareness, change unwanted behavior, and develop new ways to find possibility and growth. My therapeutic style draws from narrative, feminist, and dialogic traditions and is informed by the values of social justice.
gender and sexuality
Coming into an understanding of your authentic gender identity or sexual orientation can be both an exciting and difficult time. I specialize in working with LGBTQ people in all stages of this journey. I can support you through exploring your identity, provide assistance gaining access to needed medical services for gender transition, and help you navigate the coming out process. Therapy can also be beneficial for partners, parents, children and other loved ones of a person in transition. I also see many clients who are looking for therapy for other reasons but would like to work with a provider who understands their queer or trans identity.
sex and Relationship counseling
Sexual challenges are one of the leading causes of dissatisfaction in romantic relationships and I have training and experience helping couples and people in polyamorous relationships overcome these hurdles. I have worked with clients experiencing pelvic pain, erectile dysfunction, low sexual desire, out of control sexual behavior and difficulty experiencing orgasm. I am a kink-aware professional and I am comfortable talking with people about their interest in and exploration of kink and BDSM. Please note that I do not take insurance for relationship counseling. My rate for relationship counseling is $150 an hour.
EMDR
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is a specialized kind of treatment designed to help overcome traumatic and adverse experiences, including traumatic grief and loss. If you are healing from a painful experience we may use EMDR to help you recover in ways that talk therapy alone cannot achieve. EMDR can be used for (but is not limited to) living through childhood abuse, witnessing or being in an accident or natural disaster, losing a loved one, surviving domestic violence, and getting over anxieties and phobias. I am trained in EMDR as well as other therapeutic techniques that can help you move beyond trauma and into a fuller and more satisfying life.
I offer clinical supervision and consultation for therapists at all levels of licensure. I specialize in supporting therapists who are interested in working in a trauma informed relational style, and I love supervising people who are interested in their growing edges. I am currently completing the Advanced Clinical Supervision Certificate program at Smith College School for Social Work, and I also have extensive experience supervising interns. Please contact me to find out more about my rates for supervision and consultation.
Clinical Supervision
Coaching sessions are designed as brief, goal oriented support around a decision or life transition. Coaching is not the same as therapy, and does not involve treatment of any mental health diagnosis. Coaching sessions are $150 an hour. Inquire to see if coaching is right for you.
